The Canadian Agricultural Trade Policy and Competitiveness Research Network has the goal of improving the economic performance of the agri-food sector through research designed to enhance and better understand Canada's trade performance, competitiveness and policy options. In meeting this goal the Network will: 1) bring together a critical mass of researchers from academia and other organizations; 2) contribute to an informed debate on policy issues; and 3) increase the capacity to deliver agricultural policy research through research projects involving graduate students.
The work of the CATPRN will be organized under eight subject headings:
* Trade Negotiations
* Market Opportunities
* Competitiveness and the Structure of Production, Marketing and Trade
* Domestic Policy
* Consumer Safety and Quality
* Plant and Animal Health
* Environment and Trade
* Developing Country Issues
The CATPRN is funded by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) but the views expressed in the publications by CATRPN members are those of the authors and should not be attributed to AAFC or to the CATPRN.
