According to the Royal Spanish Academy of Language is defined as: SCIENCE: "methodologically ordered body of doctrine which itself is a particular branch of the human being", therefore, horticulture can be considered an applied science as opposed to pure science. TECHNIQUE: "A set of procedures and resources that serve a science or an art. Expertise or ability to use such knowledge "and, horticulture can be considered as a technique that would be part of the agricultural farming and more specifically in plant production. AGRONOMY: "The knowledge applicable to the cultivation of land resulting from the exact sciences, physical, natural and economic. Breeding: According to Matthew, BOSCH is the "application of knowledge that provides agronomy to plant breeding in order to obtain plant products useful to man in the most economical manner," as well; horticulture is included in plant breeding.
ART: "Virtue or willingness and ability to do something." With horticulture try to get the highest returns possible with scarce resources and it is considered as an art. As a global science is going to use several other simpler sciences as some relating to plants:
botany, plant physiology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, soil science, climatology, genetics and plant breeding, microbiology, plant pathology, entomology, ecology crops, etc.
