Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) was established in 1984 by a Presidential Ordinance. Mandates of the Institute are to: identify livestock and poultry production constraints at the national and farm level, solve those problems through multi and inter-disciplinary and inter-institutional research and to develop technologies to help food and nutrition security for the increasing population, poverty alleviation, employment opportunities, income generation and control of environmental pollution.
