American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers — is the bookkeeping profession's national association. AIPB's mission is to achieve recognition of bookkeepers as accounting professionals; keep bookkeepers up to date on changes in bookkeeping, accounting and tax; answer bookkeepers' everyday bookkeeping and accounting questions; and certify bookkeepers who meet high, national standards. Founded in 1987. Current membership: 30,000.
The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers was established in 1987 to:

* Deliver high-quality continuing education for professional bookkeepers;
* Provide job opportunities to professional bookkeepers and help employers find them on a free Jobs Site devoted exclusively to the bookkeeping profession;
* Create a high-level certification of elite professional bookkeepers; and
* Provide online forums for professional bookkeepers to exchange information, help and ideas.
